RCD's & RCBO's

RCD and RCBO units are popular methods of circuit protection. Also known as residual current devices, RCD units are sensitive to fault currents and leaking currents and will turn the electricity off if one is detected. They are essential for personal safety because if someone were to touch a wire with a leaking current, the current could travel through that person's body fatally. RCBO units combine the function of the RCD unit and act as a circuit breaker in the event of an overcurrent, protecting buildings and equipment from fires. RCBO aka residual circuit breaker also offers protection against leakages and overloads.
