Installing an internal FD30 fire door helps prevent the spread of fire throughout your home or building, and provides time to escape to safety. For fire doors to be compliant, intumescent strips must be fitted around the edges of the door to create a barrier. You can also install intumescent strips with smoke seals to prevent smoke inhalation. It is a legal requirement that fire-certified hinges and handles are used when installing a fire door.
