Why we care

We believe caring for the environment and community is not just a responsibility but a necessity for future generations. As the construction industry evolves, we recognise the importance of implementing sustainable practices wherever possible.

Our goal is to contribute positively towards the environment and society by promoting equal opportunities, eco-friendly products, charitable initiatives, recycling and energy-efficient solutions.

Sustainable suppliers

We love working with suppliers who prioritise sustainability.

  • Packaging: Many suppliers now use biodegradable or minimal packaging to reduce landfill waste.
  • Innovative products: Energy-saving lighting, water-saving taps, low-VOC paints and recycled materials help reduce resource consumption.
  • Responsibly sourced timber: We offer London's largest timber selection, sustainably sourced from Scandinavia. Our carcassing timber is slow-grown for over 120 years.
  • Community supporters: We encourage suppliers who contribute positively to their local communities.

Our timber

Responsibly sourced timber

As London’s largest timber merchant, we proudly supply sustainably sourced wood from Scandinavia. Our timber comes from carefully managed forests under strict regulations designed to maintain ecological balance.

Our harvesting methods minimise environmental impact while supporting biodiversity and reforestation.

Energy efficiency

Builder Depot is committed to improving the energy efficiency of both our operations and the products we offer. From LED lighting in our branches to educational buying guides helping customers reduce energy consumption, we promote practical sustainability solutions.

Recycling & waste reduction
