Product Information

Veemap Map Gas Cylinder burns hotter than propane and is ideal for brazing, welding and soldering. This product contains gas under pressure which may explode if heated, users should exercise extreme caution.

  • DO NOT USE if there are signs of a gas leak - consult preparation instructions for information on signs of a gas leak
  • Never use with standard propane appliances like lanterns, stoves and torches
  • Never use tools to tighten as this can cause damage to the seals

Preparation Instructions

  1. First, shake the bottle
  2. Check for signs of a gas leak
  3. Turn torch off
  4. Hold the cylinder upright while attaching the torch
  5. Attach outwards away from pilot lights, flames, sparks or other ignition sources
  6. Hand tighten only
  7. Check for leaks. Use soapy water on connections and look for bubbles, listen for hiss of escaping gas, feel for extreme cold, smell for rotten egg. DO NOT USE if there are signs of a gas leak
  8. Read and follow torch instructions

Application Instructions

  1. Use upright to prevent flare-ups or flashes. Never drop or throw cylinder
  2. If the torch splutters or flares up, turn the cylinder upright and turn off the torch. Vent the area to remove unburned gas. Slowly turn it on, and after hearing a slight hiss, relight
  3. After long continuous burning the cylinder will ice up, the flame weakens and causes the spear head to blush. Close the valve and continue to use it after shaking
  4. Turn off the torch after use and let it cool
  5. Detach the torch when not in use. This should be done outdoors keeping away from any ignition source
  6. Replace the cap to keep the valve clean

In Case of Fire

  • Leave quickly and call for help
  • Let the gas in the cylinder burn out

Storage

  • To discard contact a local refuse or recycling centre
  • Never put in a fire or incinerator
  • Never refill this cylinder. Refilling may cause an explosion
  • Never expose the cylinder to heat, sparks or flame
  • Never store at a temperature above 120°F (48°C)
  • Never put in luggage or take on a train or aircraft
  • Keep out of reach of children
  • Never put it in direct sunlight
  • Never store in living spaces
  • DO NOT PUNCTURE
