This Sika 1 Waterproofer is a liquid waterproofing admixture mixed into cement, mortar or concrete to help prevent water penetration. Once added, it works from within the mix to block pores and capillaries, creating a durable water-resistant barrier after curing. Ready to use and chloride-free, it is suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments, including hot and tropical conditions.

Typical applications include renders, masonry mortars and screeds, reinforced and unreinforced concrete, and brick, concrete or stone substrates. It is commonly used in areas such as basements, swimming pools, water tanks, tunnels, manholes and culverts.

Application Instructions

1. Stir Sika 1 slowly before use to achieve a smooth, even consistency
2. Dilute 1 part Sika 1 with 10 parts clean water and use this mixture as the gauging water when preparing mortar or concrete (increase to 1:8, or 1:6 in extreme cases, when using very wet sand), or add Sika 1 directly to the mix, provided it is thoroughly mixed
3. Carry out a small trial mix to confirm the correct dosage and water content
4. Mix, place and cure the mortar or concrete using standard good practice

Storage

• Up to 12 months shelf life when stored in unopened, original packaging
• Protect from frost, direct sunlight and contamination
• Store between 5°C and 30°C
