The IG L1/HD 100 1800mm lintel is a heavy-duty lintel for cavity walls of between 90 and 105mm. Manufactured from high quality galvanised steel.
Product Information
Cavity Lintels are used in structural applications for load bearing cavity walls and openings of windows or doors. The Cavity Lintels support and distribute the weight above the installed lintel. Cavity Lintels are made from cold steel with insulation foam in-between the two flanges to improve thermal performance.

Application
This guide is only a general Cavity Lintel application, It is recommended to consult a qualified installer for detailed planning. When placing the Cavity Lintel make sure it's level along its length with spirit level. The end bearing of the Cavity Lintel should be bedded in mortar at 150mm. The masonry above the Cavity Lintel should be built in accordance with BS EN 1996-2:2006. Outer and inner leaves should be raised simultaneously to avoid eccentricity of the loading with a height difference of 225mm. The mortar should be allowed to cure before any floor or roof load is applied. It is recommended a Damp Proof Course or Cavity Tray is installed over opening in cavity walls. When installing concrete floor care should be taken to avoid shock loading and any floor unit should not be dragged. Apply masonry immediately after the installation of the Cavity Lintel and allow to cure. Cavity Lintel flange should project beyond door or window frames. It is recommended the underside of the Cavity Lintel and the frame is sealed with flexible compound.
