Photocell

Photocell Sensors can be used to turn exterior lights on at sunset and off at dawn, they sense ambient light levels and automatically adjust to seasonal changes in the day/night cycle and are unaffected by daylight. Photocells can be combined with timers which turn on interior fixtures to create the illusion of occupancy when you're not home which can deter intruders.
