The Cromar Black Bitumen Paint is a solvent-based paint for waterproofing and weather protecting steelwork, asphalt, wood, concrete and potable water tanks. When dry, it forms a durable gloss film to protect the surface beneath. This bitumen paint is also a great option for exterior structures made of metal and masonry.

Application Instructions

1. Ensure the surfaces are dry and clear of millscale, rust and dirt
2. On metal surfaces, all loose rust should be removed using a wire brush. Where advanced signs of corrosion are evident, the area must be treated with a rust inhibitor
3. Using a brush, apply one coat of paint and allow to fully dry before the second coat
4. If applying to a potable water tank, before the tank is put into service it should be filled with cold drinking water and drained after not less than 4 hours. If a taste is detected in this water, the process should be repeated
5. Clean any spillages with white spirit
