We are looking for experienced Trade Counter Sales Assistants to join our Acton branch.

Your duties will include:

• Greeting, serving and assisting customers
• Taking, making and returning phone calls
• Providing customers with advice and guidance on product selection
• Quoting and liaising with customers
• Taking orders for deliveries and ensuring that the delivery is completed by transport
• Following company procedures for sales/returns (In General about 3 months before doing Returns)
• Taking cash and card payments
• Balancing cash registers with receipts
• Ensuring customer complaints are dealt with promptly and efficiently
• Ordering special order items-following up returns to suppliers when necessary.
• Stock taking and stock checks
• Keeping the counter clean and tidy
• Keeping counter restocked/merchandised
• Keeping up to date with promotions updating displays
• Adherence to health and safety legislation
• Following the trade counter supervisors’ instructions

Person Specification:

• At least one years’ experience of working in the building merchants or trade industry experience on a trade counter would be preferred but training will be provided.
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to manage and prioritise workload
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent team player
• Compliance with Company Health and Safety and Security and Privacy policies
• Good IT Skills
