Red Facing Bricks

Facing bricks are less strong than engineering bricks, but they can be suitable for some structural applications. They are mostly used as exterior house bricks for their visual qualities and make up the decorative facade of a building.

Including a 10mm mortar joint, a half brick wall using the standard-sized UK brick (usually laid using a stretcher bond) will require approximately 60 bricks per m². This number will change depending on brick size, wall thickness, and brick bonding type.

How many bricks in a pack depends on the supplier and brick type. The most common pack sizes are between 400 and 600 bricks. Buying larger packs of bricks can sometimes lead to bulk buy savings, allowing you to build your project for less.

Facing bricks greatly vary in price depending on the manufacturer, supplier, size, and finish. As these bricks are used for their visual qualities, they are more expensive than other types of brick. The average price for a facing brick is between £1 to £2, with bespoke bricks costing more.
