Ardex X77 Tile Adhesive is a MICROTEC fibre reinforced, cement-based, floor and wall tile adhesive. It has been engineered to fit todays tiles with ease and features a 3 hour pot life and an extended open time of up to 60 minutes that allows you to mix, spread and fix in larger batches. Ardex X 77 has been specifically formulated to have enhanced performance properties of adhesion, flexibility and advanced slump resistance properties, which make this Tile Adhesive not only ideal for fixing large format wall tiles, but for modern and traditional fixing practices. X 77 comes in 20kg bags and in two colours – grey and white.

Application
The mixed mortar is applied to the prepared surface with a trowel and then combed through with a suitably sized notched trowel in straight ribs. The tiles should be fixed within the open time of the applied adhesive and pressed into place with a twisting and sliding action to achieve the required contact. For maximum performance at least 80% of the back of the tile should be covered with the adhesive. When tiling floors, wet areas or in external locations achieving a solid bed requires buttering the back of the tile immediately prior to placing it on to the ribbed bed, this stops voids being created beneath the tiles.
