Twice weathered concreting coping allows rain water to run off either side.
Product Information
Twice Weathered Concrete Coping Stones are an apex shaped concrete casting. They have a smooth finish and are used to create a useful as well as decorative finish on the top of a brick wall. They have a drip moulded channel on the underside which stops harmful water cascading down the face of the wall which, in the long term, will cause it to discolour. Water can also get into the bricks and when it freezes it will expand causing blowing to the face brickwork resulting in extensive costly damage. The coping overhangs the wall on either side at approximately 4cm to ensure the water falls away. They can also be decorated easily to match existing property features
Key Features
Application
Firstly, the supporting masonry must be thoroughly cleaned and dampened. Using a bonding agent, you must then mix the mortar and spread it slightly raised. For a longer wall, it is recommended that you place one-two, 6 or 8mm diameter steel reinforcing bars secured in the end pillars. Before laying the copings, dampen their underside to guarantee good bonding to the mortar, and then press firmly into place leaving 1cm joints. Excess mortar must be removed immediately using a trowel. It is vital to use a straight-edge and a level to enable you to align the copings. When the fixing mortar has hardened, point the copings with mortar. To finish, immediately use clean water to remove any traces of mortar.
