This Standard Hardboard is a traditional board, commonly used for floor covering and levelling of old floor boards. It provides a clean smooth surface, allowing for the application of a variety of floor coverings. One face is smooth, whilst the other is textured in order to generate extra surface grip. A ring shanked nail or staple will still be required for secure installation. Hardboard is manufactured using fine wooden fibres, making it a cost effective and flexible construction material.
Hardboard can be used for a range of functions, including as a floor covering, in general decorative projects, for signs, displays, doors and panels, and as backing for wardrobes, cabinets and the bottom of drawers. With a light brown face, this board can be painted or covered over with vinyl, wood flooring and other products.
