This JB Red Graded Treated Timber Batten is the only UK factory-graded roof batten holding a BBA certification. Produced from slow-grown, high-grade sideboards, these JB Red Battens are then kiln-dried to guarantee maximum strength and stability and are consistent in width and thickness, helping to ensure easy installation. These battens also meet all the requirements of BS 5534, meaning you won't have to waste further time and cost getting them graded; this quality will help reduce complaints whilst their unique red colour ensures they're easily identifiable with building control.

Installation Requirements

• A batten should be a minimum of 1.2m long and span at least 3 rafters
• Not more than 1 in 4 battens should be joined over 1 truss for gauges over 200mm. Below 200mm there can be 3 consecutive joins in any 12 battens.

• Factory graded in the UK to BS 5534
• UKAS third party assessed by the BBA (British Board of Agrément)
• Preservative treated to BS 8417: 2011 Usage Class 2 using MicroPro® against attack by wood rotting fungi and insect attack
• WPA Approved Treaters certificate under the WPA Benchmark Quality Approval Scheme, to certify the treatment of wood under Use Classes 2 and 3 treated with Koppers Celcure MC-T3
