This British Gypsum 15mm Glasroc F FireCase is a high-performance, non-combustible gypsum board that protects structural steel from fire damage and corrosion. It delivers up to 180 minutes of fire protection when used with British Gypsum steel encasement systems, making it a reliable choice for commercial and residential buildings. This gypsum board is lightweight, durable, and moisture-resistant, making it suitable for semi-exposed areas. Meeting EN 15283-1:2008 standards, it's compatible with the FireCase frameless steel encasement system and the GypLyner Encase system. Installation Instructions
- Ensure adequate thermal insulation and ventilation to minimise condensation and mould risk, especially during refurbishment
- Cut the gypsum board using a saw or score with a knife, snapping over a straightedge, and use a utility saw for socket holes
- Fix the board with screws placed at least 13mm from edges, staggering joints by at least 600mm, and ensure the decorative side faces outwards
- Start finishing immediately after fixing to reduce damage, using EN13963-compliant jointing products like the Gyproc range
- Apply a full-surface finish using EN13279-1 compliant plaster as soon as the board is fixed
- Once the finishing system is dry, the board can be painted or decorated with wallpaper
