The Speed Pro Heavy Duty Restraint Strap ensures fast and effective anchoring against uplifting forces including wind. The Speed Pro Restraint straps are used for horizontal and vertical Restraint for connecting timber roof and floor systems to a masonry wall. The Speed pro Heavy Duty Straps provide lateral Restraint of roof trusses, rafters and joist tied to masonry. The straps are twisted 100mm from the bend. It is advisable to use Restraint straps if stability is questionable as it is more cost effective than either proving a strap is not required or repairing a failed structure. The straps are manufactured from pre-galvanised steel strips with zinc coated edges. Hole diameters are 6mm and they are holed at 12.5mm grouped in threes, diagonally across the width of the strap.

Application
The Building Regulation requires that lateral Restraint straps are use at each floor 2 metre centres. Restraint straps are fixed to the floor joist with 8 square twist nails; 2 per joist and 1 for noggin. Restraint Straps parallel should be fixed to masonry and be at least 1.2m long.
