Product Information
Cromar ProGRP is a Glass Reinforced Polyester flat roof system designed and engineered for flat roof applications. ProGRP is a fully integrated all in one system where the components work together on virtually all types of flat roofs and vertical surfaces in any domestic or commercial application to provide the perfect all weather protection.
Cromar ProGRP Fibreglass chopped strand matting is the most common form of flat roof reinforcement when used with polyester resin for hand lay up.
Key Features
Preparation
Ensure all debris and tools are removed and the roof is swept clean and completely dry, cut the matting for detailing work. Prepare bandage for sealing all trims to new roof deck, roll out and cut the mat for the whole roof surface remembering a 50mm overlap. Roll up strips of mat and place together, lay out first strip of mat along the highest point and continue to overlap each strip by 50mm. Prepare tools needed for procedure, application rollers, metal laminating rollers, brushes and buckets.
Procedure
Beginning at the highest edge, apply the catalysed resin to 1m² of roof, lay the leading edge of one of the earlier cut strips in to the resin and unroll the first square metre. Impregnate the mat you have unrolled before continuing to repeat the process along the length of the strip of mat. When laminating the main roof area, never mix more than 10 litres at a time, less in warmer weather, this will ensure you DO NOT risk the basecoat resin going 'off' and becoming unusable.
