A preview of the estimated delivery lead time is available on each product page. Once you proceed to checkout and enter your postcode, you will see how your delivery will be fulfilled, which could be in more than one shipment, along with respective lead times and delivery charges.
Delivery costs for orders fulfilled by Builder Depot are displayed on the delivery page at checkout. You have a choice of couriers that can differ in cost. The shipping cost for your chosen courier will vary depending on the items purchased and the location in which the items are being shipped to.
Delivery costs charged by our suppliers may also vary. We show the delivery cost when you place your order.
Free DeliveryOrders within Zone 1 qualify for free delivery when you spend more than £500* online. Orders within Zones 2-4 qualify for free delivery when you spend more than £1000* online. These will be automatically applied to your order at checkout.
Delivery costs below £500* are calculated based on the weight, size and delivery location of your order. You will only ever pay one delivery charge per shipment unless there is a failed delivery or delivery address amendment, in which case you may incur additional charges.
Our website is designed to create a unique shopping experience for each of our customers. Certain products cannot be delivered nationwide. As a result, we ask for your delivery postcode: this will ensure you can only see products deliverable in your zone. To make sure you are viewing a more optimised version of the website for your delivery area, please enter your postcode when prompted.
The map below highlights our different delivery location zones (1-4).
Orders may be fulfilled in more than one delivery. The goods ordered come from either Builder Depot or one of our trusted third party suppliers.
Orders placed online before midday will be processed the same working day. Orders placed after will be treated as having been placed the next working day. Working days are classified as Monday to Friday and exclude bank holidays.
All deliveries must be checked and signed for by someone over the age of 18. Any necessary manual labour to accept the goods must be provided by the customer upon receipt of delivery. We strongly recommend that you do not book fitters or trade person(s) until your order has been delivered and checked by you. We cannot be held responsible for any third party costs or charges which you incur due to non-delivery of an order, or orders that have not been checked on delivery. Please do not commence work or any installation until after you have received your order and checked all goods for any defects or missing parts.
Smaller items are usually sent by parcel courier to keep our charges as low as possible. Some couriers may deliver a little earlier within the expected lead time displayed on the delivery and returns information tab for each product.
Couriers we use for smaller items are DHL and DX.
Items are usually delivered within 3 working days, Monday - Friday, 8am - 6pm.
Once your order has left our warehouse, you will receive an email with relevant tracking information.
All other delivery methods are to the kerbside only, meaning goods are unloaded at the nearest access point on the kerb outside of your property. Please ensure you have a forklift or adequate person(s) onsite to accept the goods and offload. These include larger, heavier items such as sheet materials, timber, bricks and appliances, where two people may be required to carry the goods.
Delivery can take up to 7 working days depending on the item, delivery location and the availability of delivery slots at the time of the order. The expected delivery date for each product is displayed on the delivery page at checkout.
Couriers for larger items are our own BD Transport and third party courier, Palletways.
The delivery times are Monday - Friday 7am - 6pm.
Once your order has left our warehouse, you will receive a text or a tracking link with delivery details.
Our delivery service throughout the UK is to the kerbside only. Due to insurance guidelines, the couriers arriving to deliver your order are unable to enter private residences. This means that the courier will park as close to your delivery location as possible, and then you will be responsible to unload your goods from the vehicle. Unless we are advised of access restrictions the haulier will send any sized vehicle available to them, including articulated lorries. As kerbside delivery requires offload on site, we ask that you have adequate manual labour available at the time of delivery to offload your goods.
Our delivery vehicles range from a transit van to articulated lorry. We must be notified of any access restrictions (e.g. red routes or narrow roads) that may affect delivery of your order prior to dispatch. If we are not notified, additional charges will be incurred. Please note for larger item orders including pallet deliveries if there are any safety or access restrictions such as a red route we will unfortunately not be able to complete the delivery.
All delivery times stated are provided in good faith, but must be seen as estimates only. Builder Depot may not be held liable for any failure to deliver by any stated time or date, or for any consequential loss resulting from late deliveries.
Delivery by Our Suppliers
We arrange some of our products to be delivered by our suppliers so we can offer you an extended range. Therefore, products labelled 'direct from supplier' will be delivered by the manufacturer or their chosen courier. Delivery in these cases will be managed directly by our suppliers, but we will do our utmost to assist you in the event of any concern.
Due to insurance guidelines, the couriers arriving to deliver your order are unable to enter private residences. All direct supplier delivery methods are to the kerbside only which means goods are unloaded at the nearest access point on the kerb outside of your property. Product Availability and Statuses
Our product offering consists of in-store stock items and online only. The availability of both is explained in detail below:
In-Store StockThe majority of our products are stocked items and therefore, available for in-store purchases. Please use the check in-store stock function available on product pages to view stock levels and individual branch stock quantities.
Online OnlyThe rest of our products are available online only meaning they are fulfilled directly by our suppliers. Therefore, for these items there may unfortunately be no physical stock in any of our branches. Please look out for the 'Online Only' label displayed on these products.
Unfortunately whilst we endeavour to have all of our products on the website available, there are occasions when products are either out of stock, cannot be delivered to a particular location or have a different status which are explained below:
Out of stock online
The product line item is currently out of stock for online fulfilment however we expect it to return to stock shortly. You may set up an automatic email alert for when the item returns back into stock.
Unavailable in your areaThe product line item is unavailable to deliver to your area due to delivery restrictions. This is because the item you are trying to purchase is not available in your zone. You will unfortunately either need to modify your shipping address or buy an alternative product.
Temporarily unavailableThe product line item is unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances however we are trying our best to make it available again in the near future. This is most often due to issues that are completely out of our control and hence why we cannot provide one with an expected availability date.
In-store onlyA few limited products are currently only available for in-store purchases. This is usually attributed to difficulties in shipping the products. Please use the check in-store stock function on the product page and refer to branch quantities to make an in-store purchase instead.
DiscontinuedDiscontinued products are those that are not due to be available ever again. Please click on the navigation bar or any of the recommended products to find alternative selections that may be to your liking.
Delivery Lead Times
Delivery lead times will vary. An estimated delivery lead time is available to view on each product page. Your delivery date will depend on the delivery method used and where the products are stocked. We stock most of our products in our branches, however, some products are sourced directly from the supplier.
Once your order is being placed, you will see the estimated delivery date for each product being ordered in the checkout. This will then be confirmed by whichever courier service is used to complete your delivery. Bank holidays and weekends will affect your delivery lead time as our service runs on working days only. This will always be reflected in your estimated delivery date.
